Founded in 2013 by actor/writer/producer Helenna Santos, Ms. In The Biz is a magazine-style blog and collaborative community. MsInTheBiz.com is the go-to resource for female entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry, focusing on creating career success while living a purpose-filled, passionate life.

The site has a readership of almost half a million people all over the globe and hosts various events and meetups.  There are currently 1900 archived articles from 300+ female writers available at msinthebiz.com with new content coming in the summer of 2018.

Ms. In The Biz also has a compilation book full of tales and tactics for navigating in the entertainment industry titled “Thriving in Hollywood!” available on Amazon and on the shelves of Samuel French in Hollywood, CA.

Helenna SantosHelenna Santos is an actor, writer and producer with Mighty Pharaoh Films.She is the Founder of Ms. In The Bizand can often be found on panels at conventions such as San Diego “Comic-Con,” and has been interviewed by major press outlets including CNN.

Her work as a contributing writer has been featured in MovieMaker Magazine, Backstage Magazine, and IndieWire.

Her latest projects, the feature films “At Your Own Risk” and an Untitled Sci-Fi/Horror movie which she produced and stars in, both release in 2018.


Assistant Editor-In-Chief: Hunter Drago – @mshunterdrago

HunterHunter Drago is an actress, producer, and writer living in Los Angeles, California. Hunter grew up in the Washington DC theatre community and was a certified high school drama geek who reviewed local high school productions in newspapers such as The Washington Post and for local news channels. She was nominated for a Cappie Award for best featured actress in a play at 18, after which she moved to New York City to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company School and the Lee Strasberg Film & Television Institute.

A few of Hunter’s credits as an actress include ValDean Production’s Lenox Avenue, the award-winning short film Sistersand even an appearance on The People’s Choice Awards. She has performed in films, television shows, and commercials and enjoys any opportunity to do meaningful work. She’s also an active participant within the SAG Conservatory, and has performed in a number of productions and classes at the American Film Institute. She was also nominated for the Star Volunteer Award for her volunteer work in social media for AFI Fest. Currently, she is executive producing and acting in an all-female feature film, To The New Girl, set for a 2017 release.

Hunter is also a writer and marketing consultant. She has been a regular contributor for a number of websites, including Ms. in the Biz and Backstage. Her writing often focuses on entertainment industry news, safety on set, and women in film. She is thrilled to be working with such a great team at Ms. in the Biz!

As a voice actor, she is most notably known for having voiced 30+ characters on Robot Chicken. A professional live event host, Leah has hosted 1000s of rock n roll concerts and charity fundraisers. Leah is a regular panelist at workshops and conventions on both coasts, and the founder of “All Shapes and Sizes Welcome! Body Image & Women’s Issues in Entertainment.”, a travelling group of women on the comic con panel circuit, who’ve gotten rave reviews and interviews from major media outletts suchs as FOX News,and CNN.

Leah is currently in various stages of production on multiple feature films including, the gritty drama Nowhereland, Michael Reaves’  Blood Kiss starring Neil Gaiman, the full-length documentary Remember The Sultana,  with Executive Producers Sean Astin and Jim Michaels.  2015 will see her in a lead acting role in Soriority of The Damned, and a supporting role alongside Helenna Santos, in The Last Beat.

LeslieLeslie Foster is an LA-based filmmaker and a co-founder of Traveling Muse Pictures, a non-profit film collective, which is currently in post-production for a documentary about violent homophobia in Jamaica. He is also completing “The Ritual Cycle,” an experimental film series, which will be displayed as part of a gallery installation piece.  Leslie’s passion for activism, fine art, and philosophy informs his filmmaking.
He has worked for over seven years in the film industry, with over twenty credits to his name including his work co-producing the 2009 Crystal Heart award-winning short film “Marbles with Thoreau.” Having grown up and worked all around the world, he thinks of himself as an urban nomad and fantasizes about joining a roving band of vagabond artists.

After her parents jokingly reminded her she would have to be really small to fit in there, Kaytra skipped and tripped her way through adolescence until she landed a coveted spot at the Orange County High School of the Arts (OCSA). There she spent 4 years studying everything from stage combat to documentary filmmaking amongst a wide variety of young artists. Besides nerding out about way too many things, Kaytra spends her free time Netflixing, reading, and obsessing about space. Kaytra hopes to combine her love of acting, filmmaking and activism to evoke positive change both individually and globally.”

DellanyProducer, actress, writer, director, curve model & body image advocate. Originally from North Carolina, Dellany attended New York City conservatory American Musical Dramatic Academy; her debut on Broadway was with TheatreWorks USA (winner of 2001 Jonathan Larson Performing Arts Foundation Award) right before embarking on the national tour. Dellany worked on independent films in N.C., co-starred in award winning Bailey and did featured/stand in work for Molly Shannon in Talledega Nights. Now residing in Los Angeles, Dellany is currently in pre-production for several new web to TV series under the tent of her new production company Scarlett Gale Media. Dellany provided voice acting in “Pink & Blue” starring Levar Burton and Darryl Hannah. Dellany is a series regular on web talk show Go Curvy and was named Curvy Couture’s Miss December 2014. Dellany’s first produced web series was award winning comedy  2 Hopeful Spinsters featuring Michael Madsen.

She has written/co-created and is currently co-executive producing a digital series called Incredible Girl, based on the short film of the same name by Executive Producer, Celia Aurora de Blas.
