What Bad Days Can Be Trying To Tell You

0

There will be bad days.

Wait, did I just say something negative? Me? “The sun always shines and everything’s fine,” me? “Stay strong, positive, focused,” me?

Let’s be honest here. Everyone is going to experience a bad day, or two or three. We actually need to have these experiences, they make us or break us. They show us what the strong are made of and weed out the weak.

Bad days or bad experiences will tell us if we are on the right path. When things are not going right, it may be time to re-evaluate our direction. You may be causing your own bad days by not utilizing your true talent. If you are working towards a career that you think you should have rather then what you are good at you can make your life miserable. If you are grinding against your true calling, everyday will be tough. Step back and see if what you are doing is what you truly want to be giving your time and effort to. Bad days will let you know if you are on the right path or pushing against yourself.

Tough times will show us what we are made of and they will put us to the test. We need these bad days. We need the struggle to make us better when we are forced to make tough decisions or do the crap work no one else wants to do. Or worse yet, deal with people that don’t want us to succeed. These days build our character and teach us how to reflect on ourselves. And upon this reflection, you may discover that you can go further than you ever thought you could. If a butterfly coming out of its cocoon doesn’t struggle, the blood will not be pushed into its wings and it will never fly.

The great thing about bad times is it will weed out the ones that will not make it and make room for those that will. Survival of the committed plays huge in the bad days. Most will give up, most will stop and usually right before a breakthrough. It’s those that keep on when it’s the bleakest that push through to the light. They make it happen in the face of diversity. There is no triumph without struggle. The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory.

Just remember, if it were easy everyone would do it. And as Les Brown, the motivational speaker says, “They are no bad days, they are only character building days.” So have some great character building days and make your dreams come true.
