There are a zillion restaurants in LA. Seriously, a zillion. Simply put, there are a ton of wonderful places to get together with friends, have meetings, chill for happy hour etc…
My husband and I don’t go out to eat a lot, but when we do we want to make sure that our hard earned dollars are going somewhere that we love. We have our favorite sushi place and our favorite happy hour venue for “date day” at the Arclight Holywood, but there is something about Cafe Gratitude on Larchmont Blvd that warms our hearts like nowhere else.
We first learned about Cafe Gratitude when we went to the Berkeley Film Festival. At the time both of us were changing to a vegan diet and we thought we’d check it out. We were hooked! Cafe Gratitude had amazing food, lovely ambiance, and fab service. When a location opened up on Larchmont we were STOKED. Even though we are now pescetarian and no longer vegan, we both do our best to stay away from dairy and we still love a good vegan meal.
Now the thing is, if some of you cringed at the word “vegan” because you are hard core meat lovers, I should really say that no matter what types of foods you eat on a regular basis, you can find something INCREDIBLE to eat here. Cafe Gratitude is a place to get amazing whole food that is kind to your body and to the planet. Not only that, but you will get a buzz just from being in the restaurant. Everyone who works there is incredibly kind, the clientele is just as awesome, and everything is organic and local.
Our most recent trip there was to celebrate my husband Barry W. Levy’s birthday. Our server Stefano S. was phenomenal. He was extremely sweet and very knowledgable about all of the dishes there.
Among the many things I love about Cafe Gratitude is the fact that each dish is named with an affirmation.
“I am powerful.”
“I am divine.”
“I am dazzling.”
…just to name a few 😉
After dinner, we got the “I Am Irresistible” with a candle to celebrate Barry’s new year,
and the staff at Cafe Gratitude sang the best birthday “shout out” ever…
