Ms. In the Biz, FilmBreak and NewFilmmakers LA came together for an evening of networking under the stars!
On July 9th, “Ms. In the Biz” held our second joint mixer with FilmBreak, this time also partnering with NewFilmmakers LA. This evening event took place the SkyBar in Hollywood. The Hollywood setting of glitz and glam was the perfect compliment to the beautiful, ambitious, and diverse crowd that was attracted. With over 700 RSVP’s the event was packed with a great mix of new filmmakers, hollywood movers and shakers, and professionals in the entertainment industry from all backgrounds.
My highlights from the event included:
- Taking in the beautiful sunset view of Los Angeles
- Meeting up with Ms. In the Biz girls that I both knew and didn’t
- Seeing new media entertainment business happen right before my eyes
- And getting a chance to meet people from areas of the entertainment industry that I may not normally get a chance to come across.
It is only fitting that with this social media savvy crowd that we have a twitter giveaway! One winning tweet from Lynn Chen received a $150 gift certificate to The Gorbals in Downtown LA, a restaurant co-owned by “Top Chef” Season 2 winner Ilan Hall. Congratulations!
When asking some of the attendees why they thought this was a great event, the general vibe of the event was that everyone was meeting so many interesting people who did varied things. The diversity of the crowd, bringing tech and new media entertainment professionals and “multi-hyphenates” together with traditional entertainment media professionals benefited everyone.
In addition, many found it creatively inspiring and re-energizing to hear about new projects, innovative plans for the future, and different takes on the entertainment world in general.
