I’ve been staring at a blank page on my computer for days now trying to figure out exactly what the last blog post on Ms. In The Biz should be like, what it should feel like, and all I know is that my heart is incredibly full of love and gratitude.
Being that it’s Thanksgiving, it is the perfect time to say that I’m deeply thankful for every single word that has been published, every woman who has had her voice heard, every pair of eyes that have taken in those words and shared them and applauded them.
For those of you who don’t know, this is the last post on the Ms. In The Biz blog. You can read more about the evolution of the site in my previous article, but it’s an exciting time, a time ripe with possibility. The 250+ women who have written for this site have amazing things happening. We are all growing and changing, and while the Ms. In The Biz community will still be alive and thriving, the 1800+ articles on this site will be archived for everyone to read for years to come.
So thank you all from the bottom of my heart, for creating a gorgeous safe space to build community and celebrate the incredible work that women do in the entertainment industry. There is a lot of change still needing to happen, but the mountains that have already been climbed only make us stronger.
Thank you to the men that are our allies, who are our partners in this journey. Thank you for fighting, creating, and cheering alongside us.
This is a tumultuous time for society, and it is the most important time for art. So create. Be brave. Move forward and find bold beauty in all the madness, and most of all know that wherever all of our paths lead, the community created through Ms. In The Biz will always be “home”.
Here’s to the next leg of our journey!
With endless gratitude,
xoxo Helenna – Founder of Ms. In The Biz
