With a career in the entertainment industry it’s easy to get discouraged, I get it. And when we get discouraged with anything that we love, it’s easy for the majority to think it’s time to change paths- because that’s the easy route.
Most of the time it is because something or other isn’t working out the way we think it should, other times we begin to feel like each day is a repetition of the last, or we straight up just get bored- ready for the next thing. It’s in our nature.
When this happens, it’s mostly a temporary mindset about our situation, and we can’t forget that this industry is what makes us tick. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t be here.
I drove cross country 7 years ago with a car full of clothes, shoes, books, an old box tv and a thousand dollars…. to do what? To MAKE IT…. and if you’re reading this, I know you can relate and did something similar.
I’m still here…. and so are you. Whether you’ve been here 7 years like me, or 7 days, it doesn’t matter. You’re here, right?
Don’t give up on your dream because of something that can be easily changed or shifted, like your mindset!
Just like in our love life, we may have to “spice up” our work life. We might have to remind ourselves why we fell in love in the first place. We also have to ask ourselves if we weren’t in entertainment, what else could we see ourselves doing? The majority of us won’t be able to think of anything else we’d prefer to do…. and that’s why we’re here.
I’m the reminder you needed, and it’s okay to need a reminder- we all need it once in awhile; the reminder that you wouldn’t be here doing what you do if you weren’t meant to be.
Now, go do what you were meant to do and stop second-guessing your decision to be YOU-
I’ll leave you with one of my faves…
This article was inspired by my dear friend Cori, who was my reminder.
