Holly L. Derr is a feminist, director, and professor of theater who writes about theater, film, television, video games, and comics. She holds an MFA in theater directing from Columbia University and has taught at Smith College, the ART-MXAT Institute for Advanced Theater Training, Brown University/Trinity Repertory Consortium, The California Institute of the Arts, and the University of California at Riverside. Jackie Perez is a military brat turned engineer turned filmmaker. After five years of Naval service she left active duty and started a new career in the industry where she currently works as an assistant at Perfect Storm Entertainment and writes and directs short films in her free time. She is on advisory board for of Veterans in Film and Television, a graduate of the WGA Foundation Veterans Writing program, the founder of CAA Vets, and a Lieutenant in the Navy Reserves. Starting fall 2015 she will be pursuing a MFA in TV and Screenwriting through Stephens College and can’t wait to make her first feature film. She loves horror movies, has an environmental engineering degree from MIT, tries to travel outside the country once a year, plays the banjo, and has the most adorable hedgehog named Pickle.6 Articles
Bonita found her way to the stage at the early age of five. After college, she moved to Los Angeles to get into "The Biz." Over the years, she's played many roles from actor to producer, screenwriter to filmmaker — and now novelist. Under the banner of Empyrean Press, Bonita has co-authored five books in her urban fantasy series, The Werewolf Whisperer. With a background in Jeet Kune Do Kung Fu (Bruce Lee's art), Bonita holds a black belt in Kickboxing-MMA and trains in Kali-Eskrima (stick and knife fighting). Cat Doughty has a BFA in Art and Technical Theatre from Whitworth University. After moving to New Mexico in 2007, Cat joined a group of passionate independent filmmakers called Black Shepherd Productions. As part of the Black Shepherd team, Cat has been a writer, a producer and nearly everything in between. Anna Borchert is a bi-coastal actor, producer and writer. She started her career by training at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre and made her acting debuts in both indie film and off-off Broadway while in NYC. After moving to LA, Anna created Monadnock Productions as a way to create her own work and promote gender equality both in front of and behind the camera. Currently starring as Chloe Valentine in one of the first Instagram micro-series The Real Daughters of POP (IG: @therealdaughtersofpop) co-created and co-produced under the Monadnock banner with over 80 episodes. Writer, Director, and Producer, Aleisha Gore has done over fifty shorts on YouTube (including, music videos, PSAs, sketch comedies and short films). She has written two novels that are self-published on Amazon, over 300 pages of poetry and lyrics, short stories, four full-length feature films, and a TV pilot. Currently, she’s writing her third novel (a romance), a web series pilot (an Italian comedy) and three more feature length scripts (a superhero comedy, a rom-com, and a muppet movie, she hopes to sell to Disney). She loves people and different cultures and has traveled all over Europe and South India. She speaks four languages and wants to be fluent in at least seven. Rachel Levine has worked in the entertainment industry for over ten years. She started her career in Colorado and moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to continue reaching for her goals. Rachel has worked in many aspects of the industry from acting to production and everything in between. She’ll do any job on a production as long as she gets to do it in her favorite place, on set! Name a position on a film set and she has probably filled it. Currently Rachel works for a movie studio and writes and produces for her production company, Off the Lot Films, where she is Co-Executive Producer with her mom, Penni. They create web series’, short films and are in process of writing their first feature length film. Born and raised in Southern Ca, Chrissy Lynn had an eye for design and detail. As a cosplayer and designer she thrives on perfecting her craft and learning new techniques in hair styling, special FX makeup, prop and fabrication as well as costume and wardrobe. Her passion for the arts growing up has lead her to the Los Angeles area taking on positions in film/television, new media and marketing. In between working, Chrissy actively participates in non-profit charity work be it coordinating/planning, events/donation drives, cosplaying or digital marketing. She thrives on networking and making introductions. You can call her a matchmaker for collaborators as she firmly believes that artists should work with other artists and make s**t happen! Cheryl L. Bedford, a Baltimore native, holds a BFA from NYU’s TSOA and MFA in Producing from AFI. She is currently based in Los Angeles, CA. As a Production Manager, Line Producer, and Producer, she has worked on countless film and video projects, including 15 Independent Features. Ms. Bedford served as CFO and Supervising Producer for a boutique studio. Cheryl formed her own company, Cheryl L. Bedford Productions, in January of 2001. More recently, Ms. Bedford started CLBP Helps, her 501(c)3 Charity to help minorities, women and local charities. She is the Line Producer of the popular documentary, “Dark Girls” and was nominated for a 2014 NAACP Image Award for Best Documentary – Television. Cheryl has been teaching Producing for 3 years at various local Film Schools in LA, CA including UCLA Ext. Allison Vanore is an award-winning indie film and indie television producer born and raised in New Jersey. She resides in Los Angeles, CA and juggles projects on both coasts and anywhere in between. Recently Allison joined forces with Bernie Su and David Tochterman as Head of Production for Canvas Media Studios. Allison’s producing credits include original series: 'Vanity' (first project with Canvas), 'Producing Juliet', and 'Anyone But Me'. Recent feature producing credits include horror comedy 'Love in the Time of Monsters', starring horror legend Kane Hodder and Doug Jones and dramas 'Daddy' and '42 Seconds of Happiness', both premiering in the festival circuit this fall. Allison also wrote two episodes for the series 'The Ladies and the Gents' and directed an episode of 'SOLO: The Series' a series she also produced. Allison believes we owe it to ourselves to educate the next generation of storytellers. She taught online safety and anti-bullying to middle school students and their families throughout Los Angeles and taught Producing Independent Film at the Los Angeles Film School for two and a half years.5 Articles
